A compassionate space for you to explore what's important for you at your own pace.
I offer sessions in person, online and outdoor walk & talk therapy.

At the end of May, I was out on a walk when I happened upon something rather special.Thousands of mayflies were dancing above the water. For a few brief hours, they filled the air, moving together in a display that has been happening every spring for thousands of years. I hadn’t planned to see them. I couldn’t have made them appear. I was simply in the right place at the right time.It reminded me how much of life exists outside our control. We can’t control the weather, other people’s choices, unexpected change, loss, illness, or whether life unfolds in the way we hoped it would. What we can influence is often quieter. We can choose how we respond. We can notice the small moments of beauty that appear unexpectedly. We can care for ourselves, ask for support, rest when we need to, and return our attention to what matters most.Sometimes our minds become so busy trying to manage everything outside of us that we lose sight of the things that are still within our reach. The mayflies didn’t arrive because I planned perfectly. They arrived because nature follows its own rhythm. All I could do was be present enough to witness it.Perhaps that’s an invitation for all of us.To loosen our grip on what cannot be controlled. To gently reconnect with what can.And to remain open to the unexpected moments of beauty that life sometimes offers when we’re simply present enough to notice them. What is one thing that feels within your control today?#PersonCentredCounselling #WalkAndTalkTherapy #NatureBasedTherapy #NatureConnection #TherapyReflections #SelfCompassion #MentalWellbeing #NorthamptonshireCounselling #WarwickshireCounselling #Northamptonshire #RugbyWarwickshire #BlueSpaces #MindfulMoments #HealingThroughNature #GeorginaTalbotCounselling See MoreSee Less

💙 The calming power of blue spacesA fascinating article in The Guardian today explores the growing interest in blue space therapy and the positive impact that spending time near water can have on our mental wellbeing.Whether it’s the sea, a lake, a river, a canal or even a quiet reservoir, many people describe feeling calmer, more grounded and better able to think clearly after spending time around water. While research is still evolving, it’s encouraging to see increasing evidence supporting what so many of us already experience – that nature, and especially water, can play a valuable role in supporting our wellbeing. This is one of the reasons I love offering Walk & Talk Therapy. Here in Northamptonshire and Warwickshire we’re fortunate to have access to beautiful rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs, allowing clients the opportunity to talk whilst immersed in a natural environment. For some people, walking side by side outdoors feels less intense than sitting face to face in a therapy room. The gentle rhythm of walking, fresh air, green surroundings and the presence of nearby water can help create space to reflect, process emotions and simply breathe.Of course, being near water isn’t a replacement for therapy, but it can be a wonderful setting in which therapy takes place. If you’ve ever noticed yourself feeling lighter after a walk by the water, you’re certainly not alone. What blue space helps you feel most at peace? 💙 www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/jul/08/blue-space-therapy-sea-helping-trauma-anxiety-addiction#walkandtalk #outdoortherapy #bluespace #northamptoncounsellor #rugbycounsellor #naturetherapy #counselling See MoreSee Less

This weekend I’m spending time in Northumberland continuing my professional development, learning more about person-centred, contact-orientated (Pre-Therapy) and nature-based approaches to counselling with Heart Wood Mental Health CharityOne of the things I value most about being a counsellor is that learning never really stops. Every course, every conversation and every new perspective helps me think more deeply about how I can meet people where they are and offer a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, accepting and genuinely human.Spending time outdoors also reminds me how powerful slowing down can be. Nature doesn’t rush, doesn’t demand anything from us and often creates space for us to reconnect with ourselves in ways that can be difficult within the busyness of everyday life.I’m looking forward to taking this learning back into my practice and continuing to grow as a therapist.Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend, wherever you find your own moments of connection.georginatalbotcounselling.co.uk#Counselling #PreTherapy #Therapy #MentalHealth #AnxietySupport #StressSupport #EmotionalWellbeing #OutdoorTherapy #NatureHeals #WalkAndTalkTherapy #PersonCentredCounselling #RugbyCounsellor #WarwickshireCounselling #NorthamptonCounselling #SelfCare #Connection See MoreSee Less

As we reach the halfway point of 2026, it can be tempting to look back and judge ourselves for what we haven’t achieved. But perhaps instead of asking, “Have I done enough?”, we could ask:✨ What have I survived?✨ What have I learnt about myself?✨ Where have I shown strength, even when it didn’t feel like it?✨ What do I need more of in the months ahead?Taking the time for self-reflection can be a powerful act of care, and it is often the foundation of growth within ourselves.Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s simply getting through a difficult day, asking for help, setting a boundary, or choosing to keep going.Whatever this year has looked like for you so far, I hope you can offer yourself the same compassion you would give to someone you care about.#Counselling #MentalHealth #SelfCompassion #PersonCentredCounselling #Reflection #CounsellingSupport #SelfCare See MoreSee Less
