How I Can Support You
Person-Centred Counselling to help you explore what feels important to you.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come to counselling
Sometimes people contact me knowing exactly what they’d like support with.
Perhaps you’ve experienced a bereavement, you’re struggling with anxiety, or you’re finding it difficult to cope with a significant life change.
But often, it isn’t that clear.
You may simply know that life feels different. That you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you’ve noticed you’re not coping in the way you once did, or you’ve reached a point where carrying everything on your own no longer feels possible.
Whatever brings you here, you don’t need to have the right words or a clear explanation before reaching out.
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, accepting and compassionate space where we can gently explore whatever feels important to you. Together, we’ll work at your pace, making sense of your experiences without judgement or expectation.

Every person’s story is unique
Although people often search for counselling because of one particular difficulty, our lives are rarely divided into neat categories.
Anxiety may be connected to grief.
Stress may be linked to caring responsibilities or burnout.
Low mood may have developed following redundancy, retirement or changes in your health.
Relationship difficulties can affect confidence, identity and emotional wellbeing.
Life has a way of weaving experiences together.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or labels, person-centred counselling recognises the whole person and the unique experiences that have shaped them.
Together, we can explore those experiences with curiosity, compassion and understanding.

Areas I can support you with
People seek counselling for many different reasons. These include, but are not limited to:
Bereavement and grief
Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to carry. Whether your bereavement is recent or many years ago, counselling can provide a safe space to process your experiences and find a way forward while honouring the relationship you’ve lost.
Anxiety
Anxiety can leave you feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed or caught in cycles of worry and overthinking. Together, we can explore what your anxiety may be communicating and develop a greater understanding of your experiences.
Depression and low mood
Depression can make life feel heavy and exhausting. Counselling offers space to explore your emotions without judgement, helping you reconnect with yourself and understand what may lie beneath your low mood.
Stress and burnout
When life feels relentless, it’s easy to become emotionally and physically exhausted. Whether stress stems from work, family life, caring responsibilities or simply trying to meet everyone’s expectations, counselling offers an opportunity to slow down and reflect.
Change, loss and life transitions
Life is full of change. Retirement, relationship breakdown, redundancy, becoming a parent, caring for a loved one, changes in health or moving home can all bring unexpected emotions. Counselling can help you navigate these transitions with greater self-understanding and compassion.
Relationship difficulties
Relationships shape so much of our lives. Whether you’re navigating conflict, separation, changing family dynamics or difficulties with friendships, counselling provides space to explore the impact these experiences are having on you.
Neurodiversity
Everyone experiences and understands the world differently.
Whether you’re autistic, have ADHD, identify with another form of neurodiversity, are exploring a possible diagnosis, or simply recognise that your brain works differently, counselling offers a space where you can bring your authentic self.
Together, we can explore the challenges and strengths that come with your experiences, including masking, sensory overwhelm, identity, relationships, self-acceptance and navigating a world that isn’t always designed with neurodivergent people in mind.
My approach is person-centred and affirming. I recognise that neurodiversity is not something to be “fixed”, but an important part of who you are.
LGBTQ+ affirming counselling
You deserve a counselling space where you feel accepted, respected and able to be yourself.
Whether you’re exploring your identity, navigating relationships, coming out, questioning aspects of yourself, or simply looking for a therapist who offers an inclusive and affirming environment, you are welcome here.
Being LGBTQ+ is not, in itself, a reason to come to counselling. However, the experiences that can accompany living in a world where not everyone feels safe or accepting may have an impact on emotional wellbeing, relationships or self-confidence.
Whatever brings you to counselling, your identity will be respected and affirmed throughout our work together.

It’s okay if your experiences overlap
Life rarely presents us with just one challenge at a time.
You may be grieving while experiencing anxiety.
Feeling burnt out while caring for a loved one.
Navigating a relationship breakdown alongside low self-esteem.
Questioning your identity while adjusting to a significant life change.
Or perhaps you simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right, even if you can’t yet explain why.
Counselling doesn’t require you to choose just one thing to work on.
Instead, it offers space to understand how different parts of your life connect and to explore your experiences as a whole person.

My approach
At the heart of my work is the belief that every person has the capacity for growth when they experience a relationship built on empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding.
As a person-centred counsellor, I won’t tell you what to do or judge the choices you’ve made.
Instead, I’ll walk alongside you, offering a confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely, discover your own strengths and move towards the life that feels right for you.
Whether we meet in person, online, by telephone or through Walk & Talk Therapy, our work together will always be led by you.

You don’t have to fit into a category
You don’t need a diagnosis to come to counselling.
You don’t need to wait until things feel unbearable.
And you don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out.
Whatever has brought you here, you’re welcome to get in touch. Together, we can explore what’s happening in your life and whether counselling feels like the right next step.
